Recently, my computer's built-in wireless adapter failed and led me to buy a new one. How should I configure it on an Ubuntu desktop?

Most of the wireless adapter comes with Plug-n-Play options, so you just need to plug in your newly bought adapter in USB slot, and it will install the drivers automatically on your machine. If not, you can Follow This Instruction to install the device driver manually on your machine.
After the installation is complete, you can easily connect with WiFi networks once again as you used to do previously.
